A Living Museum of Trees

The East Anglian Arboretum will be a place of research, education and inspiration — celebrating the life and heritage of trees across our region.

This will be the principal and only large scale, true arboretum in the region. It will showcase a remarkable range of tree species, from Acer to Zelkova, alongside research into how trees grow, communicate, and adapt to changing climates.

Beyond its scientific importance, the Arboretum will celebrate the stories, folklore and history of East Anglia’s woodlands, preserving knowledge for future generations.
It will also be a space for learning and wellbeing – where students, families and visitors can explore, take part in workshops, or simply enjoy the beauty of the landscape.

With plans for educational programmes, wildlife studies, and creative events, the Arboretum will grow into a unique regional resource: a place to connect with nature, discover new insights, and watch a lasting legacy take root.
